is an Academy Award Winning Live Action Short Film. JOHNNY CRAWFORD and KRISTIN NELSON star in this sepia toned tribute to the old west and western films. It's the story of a young man who dreams of being a cowboy in the West, but lives in the big city. This short film has an interesting history. The short film was made at the USC Cinema Department as a 480 Project. JOHN LONGENECKER, the Producer and Co-Writer set out to make a short film that would win an Oscar. His Super Crew had just four people on it. JOHN LONGENECKER, Producer; NICK CASTLE, Cinematographer; JOHN CARPENTER, Film Editor; and JAMES ROKOS, Director. NICK CASTLE had a rock band up and running at the time. JOHN CARPENTER was a musician and music composer. JOHNNY CRAWFORD, the lead actor, was also a musician. JOHN CARPENTER composed the simple musical theme for BRONCHO BILLY. JOHN LONGENECKER got NICK CASTLE and his Rock Band, along with JOHN CARPENTER and JOHNNY CRAWFORD together at NICK CASTLE'S house and recorded the BRONCHO BILLY Theme Music in five or six versions -- the musicians hummed it, picked it, and performed the music with a harmonica, and came up with some lyrics and sang it.
